HepaCare: Exploring innovative solutions and Vital Research in HCC Among Young Researchers

This program empowers young HCC researchers by providing access to expertise, best practices, and educational resources, while addressing barriers to independent research. By fostering collaboration between young researchers and established groups, it creates new opportunities for evidence generation and advances HCC research. Ultimately, this initiative enhances the research culture and improves the success of young investigators in conducting impactful studies.

Learning objectives:
1.    To broaden access to expertise and share best practices among young researchers and well-known collaborative research groups.
2.    To collect insights from young researchers on potential problems and barriers they are currently facing while developing their independent projects.
3.    To assess the needs and provide educational resources to young researchers to help them better understand how to structure new research groups.

Webinar 3: Current Treatments for HCC and BTC

HCC treatment strategies have evolved significantly, with advancements in targeted therapies and immunotherapies improving outcomes for patients. The treatment approach depends on the stage of the disease, liver function, and overall health of the patient. For early-stage HCC, surgical resection and liver transplantation offer potential curative approaches, with liver transplantation being particularly effective for patients meeting specific criteria. Intermediate-stage HCC is commonly managed with TACE, which can prolong survival. For advanced-stage HCC, systemic therapies play a crucial role, with targeted therapies and immunotherapies significantly improving outcomes. Targeted therapies help control tumor growth, while immunotherapies have introduced new avenues for extending survival, especially for patients who do not respond to other treatments.
